Presentation of the report to ministries for equality from EU countries

„ROMA SHIELD – protecting Roma women and men from disinformation”

The issue of disinformation against Roma and Roma has been noticed by the Polish Ministry for Equality

ROMA SHIELD is an innovative research project and the first of its kind in Poland, which describes the problem of disinformation directed against women and men of Roma origin.

As part of the Polish Presidency, the Ministry for Equality invited our organisation to present the report to representatives of equality ministries from across the European Union as part of an informal meeting of ministry representatives.

The conclusions of this study will be used to bring about changes in the perception of the Roma community in the EU as valuable guidance to combat misinformation.

We hope that thanks to the our deep roots in the Roma community, and its experience in conducting anti-discrimination activities, the study will not only contribute to the fight against false information, disinformation and hate speech that hurt the Roma community, but also strengthen Roma voices in the Polish public and academic space.

The meeting will take place on 16 April 2025 in Warsaw.
