Agnieszka Caban
president of the board of the Home of the Borderland foundation
Cultural expert, PhD student at the University of Warsaw at the Doctoral School of Cultural and Religious Sciences, researcher of the culture of national and ethnic minorities, specialist in multiculturalism. She speaks Polish, Romani and English.
Consultant to the OSCE, she also works with the Polish Ministry for Equality, the Centre for Development and Education at the Ministry of Education.
Lecturer and trainer in the field of intercultural communication, anti-discrimination, self-advocacy, etc. Social activist and human rights defender. Winner of the award Helena Radlińska for social animators (special distinction in 2014). Scholarship holder of the IVLP Civic Education program funded by the US government (2018) and vice president of the Alumni Association (2023 – present).
Author of numerous articles, reports, editor of books and magazines, including: “Roma – Guide. History and culture” (2009), “Roma and Sinti in the labor and extermination camp in Bełżec” (2014, 2020), “From the life of Romni. Tradition and contemporary civilization – conversations” (2014). Author of the “Multiculturalism” section of the “Kultura Enter” magazine (2008-2011) and “Kwartalnik Romski” (2010-2015).
Vice-president of the Radom Roma Association “Romano Waśt” (2009–2020). Head of the branch of the Museum of Cultural Dialogue at the National Museum in Kielce (2017–2019).
Currently, she runs a training company called “Agnieszka Caban – Education and Development”, where she conducts training and workshops in the area of anti-discrimination education, intercultural communication, and empowering women and girls. She also provides training for Roma Education Assistants throughout Poland.
She pulls out new ideas for projects as if out of a magic hat. In her free time, she likes to immerse himself in the world of movies or plan further trips and journeys. She loves animals, nature and Greek cuisine.
AGNIESZKA PIĘTA

Currently a student of journalism and new media at the Collegium Civitas in Warsaw, interested in environmental protection issues, citizen journalism, the fight against fake-news and disinformation. Digital Transformation Expert and OSINT master.
She has 5 years of experience in the security and loss prevention sector, supervised a team of 40-50 people, conducted audits and trained in crisis management. Creator of procedures, reports, theft networks and analyzes in the field of protection of people and property, as well as team management. In the foundation’s team, she takes care of innovative solutions, research and strategy creation.
In her free time, she watches documentaries and reportages and enjoys reading popular sociological and historical literature.
